CAMBRIDGE, ON – On Wednesday August 14th, the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) Board of Directors unanimously approved the entry of a team from Stoney Creek to compete this season in Allan Cup Hockey (ACH).

The ACH also released their schedule today after the acceptance of the Stoney Creek entry to the Senior League (http://mlhsite.stats.pointstreak.com/leagueschedule.html?leagueid=274&seasonid=11460 ). The new team will play their home games out of the Gateway Ice Complex in Stoney Creek.

"The League Governors were satisfied that the team management and facility would not only meet, but exceed expectations for a team in the ACH program," said ACH Commissioner Brent Ladds.

"I am so honoured and excited to be bringing an ACH team to this tremendous hockey town," said Stoney Creek President Tony Falasca. "This is a wonderful facility and the fans are going to love it."

The New Stoney Creek team gives the ACH six teams which will compete for the Robertson Cup this season. The club joins the defending champion Brantford Blast, Dundas Real McCoys, Norwood Vipers, Welland Whalers and the Whitby Dunlops in what is sure to be a great season.

"ACH is a high quality of hockey and I’m excited to give former Junior players an opportunity to play close to home," said Falasca.

Further details announcing the Stoney Creek team name as well as staff for this upcoming season will be released in the next few weeks.
