TWO NEW TEAMS TO OPERATE IN ALLAN CUP HOCKEY NEXT SEASON
CAMBRIDGE, ON - The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and Allan Cup Hockey League (ACH), are pleased to announce the addition of two new teams to begin play in the league starting in the 2015-16 season.
At the OHA Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday May 13th, the OHA Board approved the addition of new entries from Hamilton and Thorold, as recommended by the ACH Board of Governors.
Jason Daleo is the principle owner behind the Hamilton entry. Jason worked as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Hamilton Bulldogs and was with the club for 6 seasons followed by a two year stint with J-Core, operating the teams business operations in sales, marketing and game day operations as a contractor. Currently Jason is the mainstay behind a sports marketing company called Ultimate Sports Feed. The team will operate out of the Hamilton Mountain Arena.
Thorold’s entry is backed by Front Row Sports principle owner Dave Marrone. Marrone and Rocky Venditti, both of Thorold Ontario, who will operate the team, and are no strangers to OHA competition, having successfully operated the Thorold Blackhawks for 8 years. The team will operate out of the Thorold Community Center.
“The two new entries reflect positively on a mandate undertaken by the ACH last year to expand their program into more communities throughout southern Ontario,“ said ACH Commissioner Brent Ladds. “We earnestly want to add entries east of Toronto as well, and will continue to concentrate our efforts over the next year to do so. The ACH provides an exciting brand of hockey that includes graduating junior, OHL, CIS, NCAA and professional hockey players vying for Hockey Canada’s National Championship, the Allan Cup.”
